Meeting Reflection

Meeting Reflection

A part of LSEC-N307, Personal communication class, I was assigned the task of preparing for a meeting with my class colleagues, in which we had to talk about Student Success and how Core skills are associated with that. My group was able to prepare a successful meeting of many points raised.
Firstly, I think in general meetings are a very effective way of having a professional discussion with colleagues about specific problems that people might face in the work place and have to deal with as soon as possible, so in my opinion meetings are a good thing.
The role that I was given in the meetings was the minute’s taker. The role of this person is to record as much important information as possible for example how, why, when and by whom prior to the next meeting. I accomplished developing an organized meeting.
The difference between my practice meeting and the one chosen for me, was that the practice meeting was more laid back and easier to talk about as we had a bit of time to prepare for it, as oppose to the one chosen for me because there was a limited time to prepare for that meeting and I didn’t know what subject we were going to talk about it.
Finally, in the future as a manager I would recommend organizing meetings that are thoroughly prepared as this helps while the meeting is taking place, because colleagues would know each other’s roles and would come to meetings well prepared.
